Aloha!

I would like to welcome all the participants, sponsors and supporters to this year's Halloween Shootout.

It is my goal each year to improve the quality of this tournament. The Halloween Shootout is rapidly becoming the richest purse in the state of Hawaii, already setting a record for the largest 1st place prize on Maui in only it's 3rd year; $51,000.00! More importantly we want every captain, angler and crew to walk away, winner or not, having a wonderful, fun and safe experience. Halloween in Lahaina is a great venue for a fishing tournament of this caliber. It is an opportunity to invite outer island teams and their families to share this local tradition with us. New friendships are made, old ones reunited and the competition and sportsmanship should remain at the highest level possible. As I stated from it's conception, this tournament is and will be directed by fisherman, for the benefit of the fisherman. We'll welcome any ideas from anyone in the fishing community, only if it will improve and not take away from this tournament.
